CN VIII - Rinne Test

The Rinne test is a hearing test, primarily for evaluating loss of hearing in one ear (unilateral hearing loss). A Rinne test compares air and bone-conduction hearing. Interactive virtual activity test the patient’s loss of hearing by observing the patient’s response.

Procedure

     The system will display patient's face, with a vibrating tuning fork on the back side of the ear; along with a “Start” button and a toggle button to select the desired ear.

     Hit “Start” to start the test.

     Tuning fork will vibrate beside the ear and then move to the front side.

     Result of the test / response of the patient will be displayed in a small pop-up window.

     Repeat the test with the other ear using the toggle button, ‘Right/ Left”.
