Abdomen Examination - Auscultation

Auscultation of the abdomen examines the four quadrants of abdomen region and listens to the various bowel sounds. The stethoscope is used to listen over several areas of the abdomen for several minutes for the presence of bowel sounds. User can listen to respective bowel sounds on clicking each quadrants of virtual patient through the simulated virtual activity.

Procedure

     The system will display the patient’s abdominal region marked into four different quadrants.

     Click on each quadrant to listen to the bowel sound.

     A stethoscope appears with a sound played from respective quadrant as per the patient’s condition.
